The number of hospitalized patients drops below 10,000



A new milestone was crossed this Wednesday. According to data from Public health France, the number of patients with Covid-19 in French hospitals is 9,771 against 10,046 patients on Tuesday. Such a level had not been observed since mid-October, in the middle of the second wave. The number of admissions in the last twenty-four hours continued to drop, to 167, against 181 the day before, said the health agency.

Critical care services, that is to say in resuscitation, intensive care and continuous monitoring, had 1,509 patients, against 1,560 the day before. This key indicator, which fell below the 2,000 mark at the start of last week, has fallen sharply since the end of April, when the peak reached 6,000 patients. There have been 42 admissions to these services since the day before. The Covid-19 has killed 33 people in twenty-four hours in hospital, bringing the total of deaths to 110,891 since the start of the epidemic, in March 2020.

Contamination side, 2,320 new cases have been detected since Tuesday. The positive rate of the tests over the last seven days is 0.9%.

19,677,506 people fully vaccinated

Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 19,677,506 people have been fully vaccinated, either with two injections or with a single dose if they received Janssen or if they had already been infected before, according to figures from the Ministry of Health .

17,601,838 people received two injections. 32,677,781 people received at least one injection (48.8% of the population and 62.2% of the adult population).
