The next summit on AI risks will take place in Paris

For the moment, no date has been set for the second edition but it will take place in France. The next edition of the summit on the security of artificial intelligence (AI) will take place in Paris, the French Ministry of the Economy announced this Wednesday, on the occasion of the opening in the United Kingdom of a first summit global. “France will be honored to take up the British torch by organizing the next summit,” declared French Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, quoted in a press release, without giving the dates of this second edition.

“France is a European leader in the development of artificial intelligence models. The government is alongside all private and public actors to promote innovation, and regulate according to the risks posed by these models”, for his part underlined Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital.

Political leaders, tech giants and experts gathered Wednesday and Thursday at Bletchley Park mansion, the iconic Second World War code-breaking center in north London, to discuss the risks posed by the meteoric rise of AI. In the absence of regulation or common policy, the United Kingdom wants to act as a driving force for international cooperation on this subject which is shaking up the planet.
