The new spa and fun resort awaits tourists

A renovated and extended historical building. After four years of work and a substantial investment of nearly 100 million euros, Nancy Thermal opened to the public on Saturday. The ambition is to welcome one million visitors, including 15,000 curists, per year.

The discovery of a hot spring at the beginning of the 20th century had motivated the opening of a first spa establishment in the city. But the neoclassical building, inaugurated in 1913, remained unfinished following the First World War.

Sixth spa resort in Lorraine

“With this complex, Nancy takes up the thread of an exceptional story, welcomed the mayor, Mathieu Klein (PS). Today, the city is reviving with Art Nouveau, the district has been transformed, the swimming pool is one of its jewels. »

The new complex constitutes the sixth spa resort in Lorraine. With its 20,000 m2 dedicated to treatments, well-being and also leisure, Nancy is part of the Grand Est hydrotherapy network, joining the five historical establishments of the Vosges (Plombières-les-Bains, Bains-les-Bains, Contrexéville , Vittel) as well as Amnéville in Moselle, and in the European network of major spa towns.

Three-step opening

Nancy Thermal will welcome its public in three stages. On Saturday, the first visitors were able to access the 50-meter indoor and outdoor pools as well as discover the Aquasports area with its slides, pentagliss, climbing wall and water games for the little ones.

You will then have to wait until April 15 to relax in the Wellness area and its hotel residence, which offers a thermal spa with 900 m2 of pools entirely based on thermal water. The Health space will open, for its part, on May 15. It will be dedicated to spa treatments. More than 2,000 people have already booked.

“It’s a great ambition to make Nancy a spa town: it’s a trump card to attract a clientele of tourists from all over France and even beyond our borders”, estimated the president of the Grand region. East, Franck Leroy. A key sector of the local economy, tourism is a priority for the recovery and economic development plan of the Metropolis of Greater Nancy.
