Three days after the arrival of Gérald Darmanin in Lyon, the reinforcement of the police forces dedicated to the Guillotière (Lyon 3rd and 7th) is already concrete. Prefect of the Rhône, delegate for security, Ivan Bouchier went on Tuesday evening to this sensitive district of the city center, where three plainclothes police officers were lynched on July 20, to accompany a new brigade of Republican Security Companies ( CRS).
Composed of 70 agents, this corresponds to the announcements of the Minister of the Interior, who wishes to significantly increase the number of police in Lyon, in particular by increasing the Specialized Field Brigade (BST) from 23 to 31 agents, as planned. when this brigade was created in February. On the CRS side, Gérald Darmanin had indicated the arrival in the metropolis of Lyon of a unit of “70 police officers or mobile gendarmes who will serve primarily at the Guillotière”.
They were therefore present on Tuesday evening at Place Gabriel Péri. Ivan Bouchier told the Progress want a “resumption of the mastery and control of the Guillotière”. “I am here to ensure the rapid and effective implementation of the decision of the Minister of the Interior. This new CRS unit arrived on Tuesday and it will stay as long as it takes, ”assures the prefect delegate for security, specifying that several arrests were made in the evening.
