The main proposal that was expected was the date of June 2 for the first round of the presidential election. The members of the commission explained to RFI that this date allows voting before the winter, that is to say before the rainy season which begins in July. But it also allows Ramadan to pass, which begins in around ten days, as well as other religious festivals.

The commission also proposed to keep the list of 19 candidates validated by the Constitutional Council, with the possibility of re-examining the files of failed or so-called dispossessed candidates in order to potentially add them to it. A measure that would allow Karim Wade to be able to run. The candidacy of the opponent Ousmane Sonko remains pending, if he is released thanks to the draft amnesty law announced Monday by the President of the Republic, Macky Sall. Finally, the last proposal of the dialogue is to allow Macky Sall to ensure the transition at the head of state after the end of his mandate on April 2 until the election of his successor.

These proposals will be submitted to the head of state, who must still issue a presidential decree to convene the electoral body. Macky Sall promised to refer the matter to the Constitutional Council to validate this decision. The seven wise men will also have to examine the proposals concerning the opening of the list to new candidates and the extension of the current president at the head of the country until the election of his successor.
