As the government of Elisabeth Borne wanted, the National Assembly adopted the text for the progressive abolition of most special regimes. Friday, this measure, provided for in the first article of the pension reform, collected 181 votes for and 163 against. This announcement marks the adoption of the first measure of the government’s contested project, the examination of which has been progressing slowly since it kicked off on Monday in the hemicycle.
Accompanied by their hundreds of amendments, which earned them to be accused in particular by the presidential camp and the RN of parliamentary obstruction, the deputies of Nupes defended, without success, the maintenance of the various regimes targeted. Thus will have to disappear the regimes of the RATP, the electricity and gas industries (IEG), the Banque de France or the clerks and employees of notaries.
“Your amendments are useless”
The Renaissance rapporteur for the text, Stéphanie Rist, defended a measure of “equity”. “Why do we want to abolish special diets? Because they cost 1.8 billion euros to the French every year, ”launched Renaissance MP Sylvain Maillard to the opposition.
“Why don’t you touch the special regime for senators? Because you need the right of the Senate to pass this reform”, retorted the Insoumis Antoine Léaument, describing the macronists as “big hypocrites”. “Tomorrow we will be in the street, fists raised, we will fight you,” assured his colleague Rachel Keke.
Taxing the Nupes of obstruction, the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt argued that ” [leurs] amendments are useless ”, before referring to the controversial tweet the day before of the Insoumis Thomas Portes, where the latter stages his foot on a balloon bearing the effigy of the Minister of Labor. “What do you want, you want to start over, you want my head like your colleague, you want to continue in the violence”, launched the minister, reacting to invectives during his intervention. “Your amendments are useless, it’s obstruction,” concluded Olivier Dussopt. “You are useless, completely off the mark, you are the useful idiots” of the government, also launched the deputy RN Thomas Ménagé.
