The names of 147 victims of feminicides pasted on the monument of the Girondins

This is the third year that the collective “Bordeaux feminist collages” covers the Girondins monument with the first names of victims of feminicides, the 147 women killed because of their gender in 2022. In 2021, the number of victims was 114.

The date is not insignificant since we celebrate Valentine’s Day, this February 14, during which some “continue to spread a stereotypical, archaic and misleading vision of love and romantic relationships, where happiness is found in the ‘heterosexuality and patriarchal domination,’ the collective wrote in a press release.

In France, a woman dies every two to three days under the blows of her companion or ex-companion.
