The partially naked body of a young girl, apparently strangled dead, was found Monday in a street in Pontault-Combault (Seine-et-Marne), Melun prosecutor said on Tuesday.
The body was discovered Monday morning by a person delivering newspapers in a residential area of this town of 38,000 inhabitants, said Béatrice Angelelli, confirming information from the journal The Parisian.
According to the first findings of the autopsy, the victim “would have been strangled”, she added, specifying that the body was “half naked”. The process of identifying the girl is still ongoing. The investigation was entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police of Versailles.
