The Munich Film Museum and its series “Carrying on memories” – Munich

How are you supposed to remember something when there are fewer and fewer eyewitness accounts? Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor in Berlin 90 years ago. On this occasion, the Munich Film Museum is showing a small documentary series. The program includes four productions intended to commemorate the crimes of the Nazi era, two of which are being premiered in Germany.

For example, in the 2022 Ukrainian film “The Kiev Trial” (February 14), director Sergei Loznitsa documents a trial against German officers who were on trial in Kyiv in 1946. Also directed by Loznitsa was the film “Babi Yar. Context” (February 7), which is about the largest single massacre of Jews in World War II. “A pas aveugles” (“From Where They Stood”) from France will follow on February 22, followed by the Ukrainian film “Three Minutes: A Lengthening” on February 28.
