The Munich band “Jisr” recorded their new album in India – Munich

The Munich band “Jisr” recorded an album in Bangalore on a long journey that also took them to India. Roman Bunka, who traveled through the country with “Embryo” a good 40 years earlier, can also be heard on it for the last time.

The colors of memory are pale. “Karnataka College of Percussion” reads the sign, which the hand-held camera captures gently shaking. A group of Indian percussion players sit in a circle on the floor. All in white shirts. Behind him is a guy, Christian Burchard, with long hair, a scarf, a headband, a T-shirt and sunglasses. He plays the marimba. The camera pans to the right. You hear the shimmer of his oud before you see him, shirtless, bent over his instrument: Roman Bunka.
