the mother had filed a complaint for domestic violence the same day

Two children were found dead in a field in Essonne on the night of April 11 to 12. Their father, who confessed to infanticide, was the subject of a complaint for domestic violence filed on the afternoon of April 11 by the children’s mother.

The father who confessed to having killed his two children aged three years and 20 months, found dead in a field in Essonne on the night of Thursday April 11 to Friday April 12, was the subject of a complaint for domestic violence filed by the mother of the two children a few hours before the infanticide, the prosecution said in a press release published this Friday.

“During his first hearing, the father admitted to having killed his two children on the evening of April 11 with a kitchen knife,” added the prosecution.

“If he had difficulty explaining the reasons for his action, it appeared that the relations within the couple were conflictual in a context of separation,” indicates the public prosecutor, who specifies that the mother of the children had filed a complaint against his companion Thursday afternoon for domestic violence that she allegedly suffered between December 2023 and February 2, 2024.

Investigation opened for assassinations

After abandoning the bodies in the town of Pussay, the 34-year-old man, resident of Yvelines, admitted to having attempted suicide by hitting a tree with his car. He was taken care of by the emergency services to whom he quickly confessed his actions.

The prosecution indicates that the autopsies of the children will take place on Saturday April 13 and that the suspect’s custody was extended this Friday evening.

An investigation had previously been opened for assassinations and entrusted to the research brigade of the Palaiseau gendarmerie (Essonne) and the Paris research section.
