Initially scheduled for December 1, 2020, this ban already in force in Paris itself had been postponed by six months for “reasons which relate in particular to the pandemic”, according to Paris Métropole. Non-compliant private vehicles risk a third class fine, i.e. 68 euros. But video-verbalization, currently under study, should not be implemented until the end of 2021.
“Already adopted by 247 European cities or metropolises, this device is recognized as particularly effective in reducing emissions from road traffic, one of the main sources of pollution in the city”, underlined the Metropolis of Greater Paris on Monday in a press release.
A gradually extended ban
This ban must be gradually extended to other stickers: vehicles classified Crit’Air 3 will be added from July 2022 and Crit’Air 2 in January 2024. Several exceptions are planned. The ban on driving in the “ZFE” does not apply to holders of a “mobility inclusion” card bearing the mention “parking for disabled people”, nor to collection vehicles, emergency vehicles, or vehicles used for supplying markets, for moves, cultural events or filming.
The Metropolis also provides for exemptions in favor of professionals impacted by the health crisis, upon proof: vehicles of companies having benefited from a loan guaranteed by the State, from the solidarity fund, or from measures of the Île-de-France region are concerned. of France.
