Appearances are deceptive: the Moomins, small troll creatures, appear at first glance to be cuddly and cozy, at peace with themselves and the world. These characters, whose stories Tove Jansson published in a total of nine books from 1945 onwards and who she also drew, live in constant crisis mode. Their habitat is repeatedly threatened, in the first adventure by a violent flood, in the second even by a comet that falls towards earth.
