It must have been too busy again last September. Jörg Maurer’s book “Shorty”, which was published at the time, did not get the response it deserved. It’s about a privately and professionally somewhat stray title character who one day hears the voice of an alien in headphones. He has to save the world with a little sabotage. When he gets involved, everything seems to go terribly wrong at first. Soon the only thing that helps is a hasty escape – through several universes. Maurer presented a successful mixture of thriller and the genre of humorous science fiction, which is all too rare in Germany.
