The Maccabi Haifa-Stade Rennais Europa League match relocated to Belgrade and behind closed doors

Stade Rennais was waiting to be decided on the location of its next Europa League match against Maccabi Haifa, scheduled for November 30 (6:45 p.m.). UEFA has just announced this Thursday that due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, this match will be relocated to Belgrade (Serbia) and will be played behind closed doors. Serbia will host Maccabi Tel Aviv’s next two “home” matches in the same way, in the Europa Conference League against Luhansk (November 25) and La Gantoise (December 14), but this time at Backa Topola, still without an audience .

These relocations follow a decision by the UEFA executive committee not to play “any matches” of European competitions in Israel “until further notice due to the current security situation”, explained the body. In basketball, Belgrade is already hosting Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Euroleague matches due to the armed conflict triggered following the Hamas attack on October 7 in Israel.
