the Lyonnaises are already unfolding and offering themselves an offensive festival

A record equaled for OL (0-9)

If this is not OL’s greatest success in the Women’s Champions League, the fault of a 12-0 in the preliminary round in 2007, the Lyonnaises have equaled the largest victory in the history of the C1 pools women since their introduction in 2021-2022.

With a 9-0 this Tuesday on the field of Slavia Prague, Lyon does as well as Barça against Benfica in 2022-2023. This success in the Czech Republic also constitutes the greatest success for Fenottes this season in all competitions.

It’s over, OL win with an easy victory

Impeccable in attack and rarely worried in defense, the OL players have perfectly succeeded in their entry into the European scene. On arrival, Lyon won easily on the field of Slavia Prague (0-9).

It’s a failure for Bacha but OL pushes for the 10th goal (0-9)

Found on a nice delivery from Ada Hegerberg, Selma Bacha shot hard but her shot went over the Slavia Prague goals. Lyon is still well ahead.

The double for Gilles, the record for OL (0-9)

On a corner cut at the near post, Vanessa Gilles scores twice. With a 9-0, OL would equal the largest victory during the groups in women’s C1 (format in force since the 2021-2022 season).

The Lyonnaises control the ball (0-8)

If the opportunities become (a little) rarer, the Fenottes monopolize the ball at the end of the match. The OL players are only one goal away from equaling the biggest victory in the group stage of the women’s C1.

But in the preliminary round, the Lyonnaises already won 12-0 against FK Slovan Sala in 2007 during the preliminary round.

Majri scorer, OL on the verge of the record (0-8)

As in 2016, Amel Majri scores against Slavia Prague. After a tumble from van de Donk, the Frenchwoman calmly adjusts the Czech goalkeeper.

This makes 8-0 for OL, who are only one goal away from the record during the groups of the Women’s Champions League. Note that Lyon scored thanks to eight different players this Tuesday.

Hegerberg converts the penalty, OL gets closer to the record (0-7)

After obtaining it, Ada Hegerberg wins her face-to-face and converts her penalty. 7-0 for OL

Triple change for Lyon before the penalty

Ellie Carpenter is replaced by Alice Sombath while Sara Dabritz leaves her place to Selma Bacha. Finally, Lindsey Horan is replaced by Dzsenifer Marozsan.

Penalty for Hegerberg

Restrained by the shoulder when she was going to hit on goal after a poorly negotiated defensive header, Ada Hegerberg obtains a penalty. 7-0 ball for OL.

The Lyonnaises slow down in the second half (0-6)

After a strong first period, the Lyonnaises had a little more difficulty being dangerous during the second act. The fault lies with the Czechs who were more aggressive in the duels and positioned a little higher on the pitch.

OL will have to regain control of the ball to have a peaceful end to the match despite their large lead.

The Czechs are back better but OL are still ahead (0-6)

Lyon still leads but the Slavia Prague players seem a little more offensive since returning from the locker room.

First shot for Prague after the break, OL in control

The first strike of the second act is for Prague but Endler intervenes well. Still 6-0 for OL.

Here we go again and OL are already far ahead (0-6)

The second half begins with Slavia also making two changes. Khyrova and Vesela are replaced by Slajsova and Moravkova.

Two changes for OL at halftime (0-6)

Eugénie Le Sommer makes way for Amel Majri while Kadidiatou Diani is replaced by Vicki Becho.

Sonia Bompastor spins before the match against Dijon in D1.

Le Sommer on the podium of the best scorers in C1

With her 48th goal in the Women’s Champions League, Eugénie Le Sommer joined Conny Pohlers in third place in the scorers’ rankings.

Anja Mittag is at 51 goals while the record holder is none other than Ada Hegerberg (59 goals) even if the Norwegian has not yet scored this Tuesday against Slavia Prague.

Dabritz wants more

Author of the first goal of the match, Sara Dabritz is not satisfied at half-time.

“We had a good first collective period and our objective is to continue after the break,” said the German from OL at the microphone of DAZN.

OL in demonstration at half-time (0-6)

After a strong start to the match, the Lyonnaises quickly took cover. On arrival the bill was steep for the Czechs who were already six goals down at the break.

14 shots, 8 on target and already 6 goals for OL in this first act as the record for the largest victory in the group stage approaches.

Fox scores… with a header (0-6)

On a last corner before half-time, Eugénie Le Sommer found Wendie Renard’s head. Launched in full swing, the OL captain stole the ball that Kady Diani was waiting for to score her first of this European campaign.

Endler as boss, OL still far ahead (0-5)

Slavia’s free kick did nothing but allowed Christiane Endler to warm up her gloves by winning well.

Diani warned, well-placed free kick for Slavia

We will perhaps witness the first Czech opportunity after Kadidiatou Diani’s mistake on the right side of his defense. The Blue and OL striker received a yellow card for her action.

OL calm, the Czechs harmless (0-5)

After an orgy of goals in a few minutes, the pace dropped a little at the end of the first period.

Still 5-0 for the Lyonnaises who are in total demonstration. Opposite, the Czechs have shown nothing so far.

Lyon towards a card against Prague like in 2016?

During the previous meeting between the two teams, in the quarter-final first leg in 2015-2016, OL won 9-1 against Slavia Prague.

On the return, the Czechs snatched a draw in front of their home crowd (0-0). This evening, Lyon seems determined to treat itself to a recital.

Note that Eugénie Le Sommer had scored like Amel Majri (on the bench this Tuesday) and that Ada Hegerberg had signed a double, just like Griedge Mbock (substitute this Tuesday).

OL on the road to a record?

Note that the record for the largest victory in the groups of the Women’s Champions League is a 9-0 success for Barça against Benfica in 2022-2023.

La manita after only 24 minutes

It’s Kadidiatou Diani’s turn to go for his goal. Already the author of an assist, the summer recruit from OL scores her first goal in C1 with her new team.

5-0 for OL!

Sommer also scores, OL in demonstration

On a perfect cross from Danielle van de Donk, Eugénie Le Sommer does not even need to jump to adjust her header and add a new goal.

The Breton scored her first goal of the evening, perhaps not the last as OL dominated in this first period.

Renard tries his luck from afar but it goes over the top

Not worried in defense, Wendie Renard plans to attack. The Fenottes captain fired a big shot from more than 30m but it went far above.

Gilles triples the bet, OL rolls

Ada Hegerberg hits the bar with a header from a corner. But the Canadian Vanessa Gilles followed well to score with a header.

If the ball hit the bar again on this second action, it ended up crossing the line despite a desperate attempt by the Czech goalkeeper to clear it.

This time it’s the right one, Lyon takes shelter

After a cross inside six meters from Diani, Danielle van de Donk threw herself well to tackle the ball into the back of the Czech net.

OL are already taking cover after less than a quarter of an hour of play.

Goal denied for OL

On a corner poorly cleared by the defense, a header from Eugénie Le Sommer was pushed back with difficulty into the feet of… Kadidiatou Diani. If the Frenchwoman concluded well, the referee refused this second Lyon goal for offside.

In the absence of VAR during the groups of this Women’s Champions League, no video verification and therefore goal refused for Fenottes.

Lyon gets their foot on the ball

After Sara Dabritz opened the scoring, the Lyonnaises monopolized the ball but were unable to appear dangerous yet.

Launched deep, Kadidiatou Diani finds herself on the ground in the Slavia area but it is regular.

Dabritz’s goal on OL’s first attack

After a great action with one touch of the ball, the Lyonnaises moved up the field. On a cross from Perle Morroni coming from the left, the German Sara Dabritz launched with a beautiful shot which ended up in the opposite net.

The European Fenottes season is launched!

Let’s go !

The kick-off is given, the Lyonnaises will play for this first match of this 2023-2024 campaign in C1.

Just a few more minutes before kick-off

Having fallen in the quarter-finals last season, the Lyonnaises will try to find their way back to success on the continental scene.

The pre-match protocol begins with the players entering the pitch.

Brann provisional leader in the OL group

In the other group B match where OL are located, the Norwegians from Brann won on the field of the Austrians from St Pölten (1-2).

While waiting for the duel between Lyon and Slavia Prague, Brann is therefore leader with three points.

In the other match at the start of the evening, Frankfurt won in Sweden against Rosengard (1-2).

The compositions have fallen, OL in 4-3-3

OL’s eleven: Endler – Carpenter, Gilles, Renard, Morroni – Horan, Van de Donk, Dabritz – Diani, Hegerberg, Le Sommer.

Slavia Prague eleven: Lukasova – Vesela, Keene, Bartovicova, Xiao – Stackpole, Sumoska, Cerna, Mc Laughlin, Khyrova – Ruzickova.

Record holder Wendie Renard in search of a ninth title

Present during each of OL’s victories, Wendie Renard is the most capped player in the Women’s Champions League with 110 appearances and a 111th this Tuesday.

The Blue and Lyon defender will try to guide her team to a historic ninth coronation this season.

The second most capped player, Alexandra Popp (94 matches), will not be able to catch up after the elimination of Wolfsburg in the play-offs against Paris FC (3-3, 0-2).
