The Louvre Museum announces a closure this Saturday “for security reasons”

The day after the attack at the Arras middle school, the Louvre museum announced its closure on Saturday for “security reasons”. On X (formerly Twitter), the official account of the museum specifies that people who have booked for a visit this Saturday will be reimbursed.

“The Louvre received a written message reporting a risk for the museum and its visitors” and “we have chosen (…) to evacuate it and close it for the day, while we carry out the essential checks” , specified a spokesperson after the announcement of the closure on the social network X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.

France went on Friday evening on “emergency attack” alert, the highest level of the Vigipirate system, after the assassination of a teacher, Dominique Bernard, stabbed to death by a young man registered S in front of a middle school in Arras.
