The Lille festival is expanding its entertainment offer, apart from screenings

Series Mania is now the unmissable festival for series fans and professionals. And he is coming back, quickly, very quickly, since the 6th edition begins next Friday, in Lille, his native land. The event continues to gain notoriety, attracting more and more international stars and an ever-growing audience year after year. In addition to a screening program as enticing as it is extensive, Series Mania is also full of events to experience elsewhere than on the big screen. We give you the outline.

With a budget of nearly 9 million euros, the organization of the festival has the means to do things well, and we are not talking here about the thickness of the red carpet. In the masterclasses given during this edition, beware, there is only heavy stuff. Brian Cox, Cécile de France, Cédric Klapisch, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu and Lisa Joly, the president of the jury, who will explain how to imagine worlds that do not exist.

Karaoke on cult credits

In terms of conferences too, series addicts will be served. There will be 7 in all, on particularly varied themes, from cooking in the series to the representation of war through fashion. Less formal, the actors of the series Bouchon will lend themselves to reading the scenario which puts them in scene. At the Tripostal, ashamed fans of soaps will be able to indulge themselves by attending the conference by Alexandre Letren, “From the Fires of Love to Tomorrow belongs to us, the great history of soaps”.

Again and again, the “village festival” will take place at the Tripostal. It’s the place to be outside of screenings, especially in the fan club for signing hunters. This is also where the major “Don’t skip” exhibition will be held, which retraces seventy years of cult series credits. In the same vein, one of the emblematic evenings of the festival will take place in the form of a giant karaoke, on March 23, inviting participants to sing the lyrics of their favorite credits. Also not to be missed is the opening party on March 17, including a DJ set by Kiddy Smile.

And it’s not over since Series Mania also offers many other activities, such as a dance workshop, an eloquence workshop or another on the songs of the series credits. For children aged 6 to 16, screen printing, storyboarding, dubbing, serial writing, stencil and even a casting workshop to “know everything about figuration in the region”. What a way to fill your week.
