For fans of the series “The Legacy of Montezuma”, the treasure hunt on Disney+ comes to an abrupt end after just one season.

This treasure hunt is over after only ten episodes: As the US industry website “Deadline” reportsthe action-packed adventure series “National Treasure”, known in this country as “The Legacy of Montezuma”, was canceled after just one season of the Disney+ streaming service.

The series acted as the official sequel to the two cinema films “The Legacy of the Knights Templar” (2004) and “The Legacy of the Secret Book” (2007), in which Nicolas Cage (59) played the leading role. Among others, Harvey Keitel (83), who acted in both films, made a cameo appearance in the series – and thus fueled the hope of the fans that Cage could soon stop by for a short appearance. Of course, this wish is gone with the cancellation of the series.

Instead of Cage, young actress Lisette Olivera (24) played the main role in the short-lived series adaptation, and the cast also included Catherine Zeta-Jones (53) as an antagonist.
