The left-wing Nupes coalition announced on Monday evening that it would withdraw “a thousand amendments” to advance in the examination of pension reform, while the presidential camp continues to denounce “obstruction”.
The left hopes to finish article 2 on the “senior index” in the evening, an indicator to encourage companies to employ older workers. Nupes had started to remove amendments before Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne called for the “withdrawal” of the “obstruction” amendments. There were still more than 14,000 amendments on the counter after the announcement of the Nupes.
