The last corona measures are taken in Switzerland

As of today, there is neither a mask requirement nor proof via app in Switzerland. The government has lifted all corona rules, including self-isolation.

In Switzerland, the last nationwide Covid measures were lifted on April 1st. The mask requirement in public transport and in health facilities fell on Friday. The Swiss Covid app for contact tracing has been deactivated. people with the Coronavirus infected no longer need to isolate themselves. However, the authorities called on people to stay at home if they had symptoms.

The government justified the steps this week with the high level of immunity in the population and the stable situation in the intensive care units. The seven-day incidence is below 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in half of the 26 cantons.

Most of the restrictions were already lifted in mid-February. Since then, corona proof and masks have no longer been necessary in shops, restaurants and cultural institutions.

But the government wants to maintain “increased vigilance and responsiveness” until spring 2023: Existing structures for tests, vaccinations and infection tracking should – if necessary – be activated quickly. In addition, the cantons can independently prescribe stricter measures. In Bern and Geneva, for example, masks must still be worn in hospitals and nursing homes.
