A federal judge overseeing the case of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has denied a request from his legal team to dismiss him on all but three criminal charges.
In a June 27 filing in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruledleaveMemorandum of opinion which the legal team of Bankman-Fried The lawsuit was filed on May 8 with the goal of having the judge dismiss 10 of the 13 charges he faced. which will leave only charges conspiracy to commit commodity fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering
The acquittal on 10 counts, including electronic fraud, conspiracy to commit electronic fraud, and violations of the campaign finance law.
Bankman-Fried It will face a total of eight charges beginning in December 2022, with four more in February 2023 and one related to bribery of Chinese government officials in March 2023. The final five charges will, however, be considered. in a separate trial which is slated to begin in March 2024 as an addition follows the SBF’s extradition from the Bahamas. And his first trial is scheduled to start this October.
