Despite already ten days of new confinement in the Alpes-Maritimes, we will still have to wait to have encouraging results. The incidence rate, the indicator that allows us to know the number of new coronavirus patients over seven days and per 100,000 inhabitants, is on the rise again. This Sunday, it stood at 454 against 410 last week, according to Public Health France.

Figures which seemed encouraging and which suggested that the efforts of the three weekends confined in the department were bearing fruit. But after falling and stagnating, the indicator goes up. At the time of the government’s announcements, the incidence rate was still 450 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the tool Geodes of Public Health France. The national average incidence is 350.
