The HAC files a complaint against Le Havre spectators, involved in the attack on a Lensois supporter

The video of an RC Lens supporter isolated and attacked by a group of around ten people from Le Havre, Friday evening in a side stand of the Océane stadium, was massively shared all weekend on X (formerly Twitter). The scene took place after Florian Sotoca’s goal in added time of the match, ultimately refused for offside (1-1). The Sang et Or supporter, located far from the parking area dedicated to the Lensois camp, then let out a smoke bomb, before being attacked by several people from Le Havre.

Injured, the man was evacuated from the stand by the stewards, before being taken care of by first aiders and a doctor (the image of his exit from the stadium on a stretcher was also shared on X). According to The Teamthe victim would not suffer serious injuries.

Several people identified by the HAC

The Havre Athletic Club (HAC) reacted Monday evening to this attack in its stadium via a statement, where there is talk of a “fight” having “broken out between a Lensois supporter and spectators from Le Havre”. “Following these acts of violence, the club is filing a complaint against the spectators involved and will at the same time take measures against them,” continues the HAC press release, which has therefore identified several people since Friday evening.

“The HAC strongly condemns this type of behavior which harms the positive experience that the club wishes to put in place in all its meetings. The Stade Océane must remain a festive and family venue, to do this, the HAC will continue to be uncompromising towards violent spectators and will take all measures to guarantee the tranquility and safety of the public”, concludes the Le Havre promotion, currently 11th in Ligue 1 after nine days.
