For a long time, eggnog was associated with the slippery aunt or with coffee parties at Grandma’s. Liqueurs are currently experiencing a revival – especially when they shed their outdated image, increase in quality and adapt the bottle design to today’s times. Eggnog is also making a comeback. Rightly so. It not only tastes good on chocolate ice cream with cream, but also on its own with ice cubes, refined with rum as a cocktail – or, of course, in a chocolate cup.
But which eggnog tastes best? We looked beyond the market leader Verpoorten and discovered some handmade alternatives. They were tasted in a blind test; we shook all the bottles well beforehand and tasted them at room temperature. The evaluation was based on smell, taste and appearance/consistency.
