The grand oral test begins this Monday morning

After writing, place to speak. From this Monday morning, the 530,000 candidates for the general and technological baccalaureate pass the final baccalaureate test, namely the grand oral. the event, which runs until June 30, is being held for the second time under normal conditions, after being lightened in 2021 due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

The stakes are not negligible: it is marked with a coefficient of 10 in the general stream and 14 in the technological stream (out of a total of 100). Its place is nevertheless lower compared to the two specialty tests passed in March (coefficient 16 for each specialty).

A 20 minute oral

For this test, the high school student arrives with two questions prepared with his teachers and relating to one or two of his specialties (history-geography, mathematics, etc.). The jury, made up of two professors, one of whom teaches one of the specialties, chooses a question. The oral then lasts 20 minutes, including 5 minutes of presentation, 10 of interview with the jury and 5 of discussion on his orientation project.

As for philosophy, the marks of the oral exam are taken into account in the average of the baccalaureate, the results of which will be published on July 4. Since its reform in 2019, the baccalaureate mark is 60% based on final tests. Last year, nearly 94% of candidates had won the baccalaureate.
