The Grand Bypass West (GCO) has been in service since Friday

Since this Friday at midnight, a new motorway is open to vehicles around Strasbourg. The Grand Bypass West (GCO) was officially commissioned on December 17.

This 24 km long A355 motorway should reduce traffic on the A35. At least that is what his supporters and his manufacturer-dealer hope. Vinci, which has invested 561 million euros and will have the concession of the route for 54 years, expects between 22,000 and 34,000 vehicles per day.

The prices to travel there will vary depending on the time slot and the section taken. For the 24 kilometers of the GCO, it will take between 1.10 and 2.50 euros for class 1 vehicles. The highest toll concerns class 4 vehicles (heavy goods vehicles and three-axle coaches) and will be 8 , 30 euros.

The GCO was inaugurated last Saturday, December 11, by Prime Minister Jean Castex.
