Jamshid Sharmahd has never seen his granddaughter. She is now five months old and his family is afraid that they will never meet him. Because at the end of July 2020, the German-Iranian dissident was kidnapped from the hotel room by the Iranian secret service to Iran during a business trip from Frankfurt to Mumbai, with a stopover in Dubai. There the 67-year-old is now accused of “corruption on earth”. He faces the death penalty. Recent executions of Iranian demonstrators were also justified with this accusation. January 10 was the eighth and so far last day of Jamshid Sharmahd’s trial.
