The Geneva-Paris TGV line has been disrupted since this Sunday morning by a landslide that occurred near Nantua (Ain), we learned from the SNCF and the prefecture. “Following a rockslide in Nantua last night, the RD74 was cut and diversions put in place,” tweeted the prefect of Ain.
“Dozens of cubic meters of rocks damaged the railway and crossed the road”, specified for his part the mayor of Nantua, Jean-Pascal Thomasset, on Twitter, photo in support. “The road to Nantua along the lake is prohibited for pedestrians, hikers and cars. Boats must stay absolutely clear of the shore,” he warned.
“Traffic is interrupted on the Haut-Bugey line. The TGVs are diverted to take another route. Delays not exceeding 20 minutes are to be expected, ”said the SNCF on its site, indicating that this incident should end next Thursday.
