The general renovation of the Munich City Museum – Munich is finally coming

The time has finally come: On Sunday evening, the Munich City Museum will officially close its doors and begin preparations for the long-planned and repeatedly postponed general renovation and redesign. All of this is expected to take eight and a half years and, according to current planning, cost almost 271 million euros. The film museum and city café can remain until 2027. An interim operation in one wing of the multi-part museum complex is to be maintained for just as long.
