It was the revenge of the Euro final. A few months after their defeat against Germany, on penalties, the French U17 team experienced the same nightmare, against the same opponent, and still on penalties, this Saturday, during the World Cup final (2 -2, 4-3 tab). This is the first title for the Germans in this age category.
Yet we always believed in it. Certainly, the Germans had clearly dominated the first period, concluded with the smallest of leads thanks to a penalty goal from Paris Brunner. Certainly, the Germans had scored the second goal after returning from the locker room, with an unfortunate own goal from Le Havre goalkeeper Paul Argney, following a cross from Noah Darvich. But nothing was over.

Because after the Mannschaft’s second goal, France returned to a comeback operation. It started in the 52nd minute of play, with a goal from Saimon Bouabré, after an action developed on the left side. It continued thirty minutes later, with the equalizer from Stéphanois Mathis Amougou, following a nice combination between Bouneb and Gomis.
Between these two goals, the Germans had lost a man, their defender Winners Osawe, sent off after two yellow cards (69th), and had conceded a plethora of chances. But they resisted the latest French assaults and ended up being the strongest in the penalty shootout.
