The franchise could continue after “The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird”

Next November 15 will be released Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird, the prequel film to the 2010s saga with Jennifer Lawrence which kept an entire generation of teenagers in suspense. A feature film directly adapted from the latest novel by author Suzanne Collins and which, if the latter decides to continue on its path, could well see sequels. In any case, that’s what Francis Lawrence did, who made all the adaptations.

“If Suzanne has another thematic idea and thinks it could fit into the world of Panem – whether it’s with familiar characters like Finnick and Haymitch or new ones, I’d definitely want to dive in and make part [de l’aventure] », Explained Francis Lawrence to Entertainment Weekly.

A little suggestion

“And if I have just one thing to suggest, it would be to be able to make Finnick’s plays. He’s an excellent character. But it’s the underlying theme that makes the story worth telling, right? », concluded Francis Lawrence.

Indeed, as the filmmaker points out, Suzanne Collins’ books are interesting in that they all deal with a particular human theme, the universe of Panem never being anything other than a pretext to develop them.
