40 short films by students from 26 countries can be seen at the Filmschoolfest. The festival is overshadowed by the death of a director whose work was supposed to have – and still has – an international premiere in Munich.

If you follow the festival organizers’ credo, then nothing less than the future flashes on the screen. The Filmschoolfest Munich, which will show 40 short films from 35 film schools from 26 countries from November 12th to 18th, is billed as the “Festival of Future Storytellers.” The aim is to make it clear in the HFF cinemas “what will continue to determine audiovisual storytelling in the years to come”. Demands and prize money are high, and there are several juries involved in the selection.
