“We are being lied to. This reply, we are used to it. And again, it is applied to Covid-19. “We are only learning today that all the “official” figures linked to hospitalizations and deaths during the #COVID19 period were bogus because… Non-existent”, say Internet users.
This time, to support the theory, it is the Commission for access to administrative documents (Cada) which is cited. The latter would have effectively admitted that there are no figures regarding deaths and hospitalizations.
Some Internet users advance the problem differently, noting that “the statistics of people who have died or been hospitalized since December 2020 according to their anti-Covid vaccination status do not exist”. 20 minutes takes stock of this information that has gone viral.
FAKE OFF
No need to look for this opinion on the database of the Commission for access to administrative documents, it is not there. “We have taken a delay in putting the opinions online, since some must be anonymized, this can take time”, simply explains the Cada to 20 minutes. We have obtained this famous opinion quoted by Internet users. It is very real but its meaning is somewhat diverted.
The Cada “is an independent administrative authority responsible for ensuring freedom of access to administrative documents and public archives”, as explained on its website. Everyone can therefore enter it in order to request to receive administrative documents, access to which they have previously been denied. Here, the request was made by Maître Martine Baheux, presented as advice from epidemiologist Laurent Toubiana. It is recorded that the latter was denied access to several documents by the Ministry of Health.
No questioning of the number of deaths and hospitalizations
The opinion issued by the Cada explains that certain documents requested do not exist. Some, since “there are no statistics relating to the vaccination status of all deceased persons, nor any statistics relating to hospitalizations according to vaccination status”. Others because “there is no database listing the influenza vaccination status”. This has brought Internet users to the shortcut that the figures put forward since the start of the epidemic are invented from scratch.
All the figures communicated on the numerous deaths as well as the numerous hospitalizations are not questioned here, contrary to what some Internet users may have thought. According to those taking part in the SurViVax study, conducted within the framework of the SCEPID, including Laurent Toubiana: “Statistics of hospitalizations and deaths, all causes depending on the vaccination status, can shed scientific light” on the question of the effectiveness vaccines, and in particular on the benefit/risk balance.
And France is far from being the only country where there is no database in which is informed, each time a patient is hospitalized or dies whatever the cause, his vaccination status against Covid. The American, Canadian authorities, or even those of France’s close neighbors (Spain, Germany, Italy) do not publish this information. Only one state is an exception: England.
The Dress uses different databases
These missing data are not to be confused with those allowing the efficacy of the vaccine to be judged. Or with those that allow you to follow the side effects, which, we remind you, are available directly online.
To monitor the epidemic and vaccination, the Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics Department (DREES) uses three databases. The “SI-DEP” makes it possible to understand the results of Covid-19 tests, the “SI-VIC” to observe hospitalizations, admissions to critical care and deaths of patients positive for Covid-19, “VAC-SI” to follow vaccinations against Covid-19. The cross-referencing of these databases makes it possible in particular to find out figures on the deaths of patients hospitalized after having contracted Covid-19 according to their vaccination status on the day of death.
