Politics and society are not prepared for both parents to want to pursue a paid job. In the pandemic, mothers are more likely to back down than fathers – a fatal development.

The corona pandemic has made life worse for millions of Germans. Health, mentally, financially. Of course, one thinks first of fatalities and long-term illnesses. With a respectful distance of meaning, however, one can also talk about the fact that some social groups are particularly burdened. This includes families with children, especially mothers. For them, politics does not do enough in the pandemic, yes: politics often leaves families alone.
