That’s what “The Fear Index” is about
dr Alex Hoffman has developed an AI system designed to predict fluctuations in the financial market. This is based on his theory that people behave predictably when they panic. The system wants to take advantage of the fear on the financial markets; it works lightning fast with it to make big wins.
When Hoffman is attacked one night when his villa in Geneva is broken into, and there are other inexplicable incidents, it is he who becomes afraid and panics. A well-kept secret from his past comes to light. His company, his marriage, his reputation are at risk of being destroyed in just a few hours. Is someone trying to frame him – or is the scientist just going insane?
Detective Leclerc, who is in charge of Hoffman’s case, wants to expose the former CERN scientist at any cost. Hoffman’s wife Gabby may lose patience with him this time. And the only concern of his business partner Hugo is the billion dollar business that is now at stake. A life-or-death chase ensues for Hoffman…
