The favorite Christmas dish could be expensive this year – economy

It is an integral part of many dishes and yet often only plays a secondary role: the potato. But what would the gravy be without the potato dumplings, the ketchup without the fries or – even worse – the Vienna sausages without the potato salad? The latter combination is not only particularly popular at Christmas, it is considered a classic home cooking par excellence. In many German kitchens (almost) nothing works without potatoes, that’s for sure.
