the father released, the prosecution requests the indictment of the mother

A three-month-old baby was fatally shot on the evening of Wednesday, October 25. Two people, including his father, were quickly taken into police custody. The prosecution is now requesting the indictment of the mother.

The mother of the infant shot dead on Wednesday in Essonne was taken into custody on charges of murder of a minor under the age of 15 on Thursday October 26 before being taken into psychiatric care.

A judicial investigation was opened by the Évry public prosecutor’s office. He requested that a warrant be issued against the mother for the purposes of indictment, BFMTV learned.

The mother treated in psychiatry

Her baby, aged 3 months, was dropped off at the Sud Seine-et-Marne hospital center on the evening of Wednesday October 25, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He died a few minutes after his arrival. In the same evening, his mother, wounded by a gunshot, was discovered by a couple returning from an outing, near the equestrian center in the town of Milly-la-Forêt. His vital prognosis is no longer in jeopardy.

The woman, aged 39, was briefly interviewed by investigators this Thursday, October 26, where she used her right to silence, in the presence of her lawyer, a judicial source told BFMTV. Given his state of health, a measure of psychiatric care was taken by decision of the state representative.

The prosecution therefore requests that the mother be directly referred and presented to a judge with a view to her indictment, following her hospitalization.

Police custody of the two men lifted

Two other people were taken into custody in this case, including the father of the infant who had dropped his child off at the hospital. After being extended, police custody was finally lifted this Friday, October 27.

The trail of infanticide followed by a suicide attempt is therefore advanced but the investigating judge, now seized, will have to determine precisely the circumstances of the commission of these facts.
