Almost three days later the discovery of the body of a 7 year old boy in an apartment in a HLM residence in Perpignan, avenue Émile Roudayre (in the Bas-Vernet district), the father was finally placed in pre-trial detention, as requested by the Perpignan public prosecutor’s office. The uncle and paternal grandmother were placed under judicial supervision.
Father indicted for murder and attempted murder
This Saturday, at the end of the day, the investigating judge questioned the father, uncle and grandmother at length. At the end of the hearing the father was finally indicted for murder and attempted murder of minors under the age of 15. However, he was not indicted for forgery and use of false administrative documents as requested by the prosecution. Uncle and grandmother were indicted for failure to report a crime.
The child’s father was arrested at the scene and taken into custody on Thursday evening. The uncle and paternal grandmother were immediately taken into custody. According to the first elements of the investigation, the child presented significant traces of violence, just like his two younger sisters who are hospitalized. The little boy’s body was still partly frozen when the police found him in the father’s apartment.
Psychological support has also been put in place for the maternal grandmother as well as for the mother of the three children.
