The famous hairdresser Jean Vallon has died

Jean Vallon died on the night of February 27 to 28 from cancer at his home in Cazevieille, Hérault. He was 73 years old. Trained in Avignon, the famous hairdresser opened his first store in 1967, in Montpellier.

Over the years, he had opened many others, notably in Languedoc, Roussillon and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. In the 1990s, he opened his own learning center, still in Montpellier.

Hairdresser, entrepreneur, artist… and mayor

Renowned hairdresser hailed by the specialized press, business manager at the head of a fifty stores and about 250 collaborators, this jack-of-all-trades had also launched into art. His paintings were regularly exhibited in his restaurant Les Docks du GR, opened with several partners, in Saint-Martin-de-Londres.

He had been mayor since 1989 of the small town of Cazevieille (201 inhabitants), located about twenty kilometers north of Montpellier. He had since been re-elected as its head five times. As such, he sat on the community of communes of Pic Saint-Loup.
