A cinema set ravaged by flames. The five campsites located at the foot of the Pilat duneof which 6,000 holidaymakers had been evacuated, “have burned to 90%”in the fires raging in Girondeannounced, Monday, July 18, 2022, the prefect of the department, Fabienne Buccio.
Among these five campsites is that of Flots Bleus, made famous by the film series “Campsite” with actor Franck Dubosc who played Patrick Chirac three times between 2006 and 2016.
The site had been evacuated on the night of Tuesday July 12 to Wednesday July 13 to prevent campers from finding themselves in danger from the flames, which finally reached the campsite.
“We suspected that with the wind, it was going to be very complicated” told France 3 Franck Couderc, director of Camping des Flots Bleus. “We assumed the main thing, we evacuated our vacationers and our employees, and there were no injuries and that’s the main thing. The director had been in Biscarosse for several days, with Franck Dubosc. “We saw these thick black smoke, obviously we prayed that our campsite would not be affected but last night I saw the wind turn”he said.

Franck Dubosc also wanted to send a message to holidaymakers evacuated from the Flots Bleus campsite. “I would like to be able to meet people who have been evacuated, to at least give them a smile for half a second. It’s not because I’m here that it will change things, but if they can meet Patrick Chirac and have a smile for half a second, that would make me very happy.
