Every now and then it’s just a small gesture that shows how social debates shift. For example, the fact that the decisive text on the long-term strategy for the global fight against Covid-19 by six leading American voices in epidemiology did not appear in a medical journal or in the central organ of the natural sciences Nature, but in Foreign Affairs. This is a journal of political essays that the think tank “Council on Foreign Relations” in Washington has published since 1922. Although the paper has an academic character, it has a very prominent readership. In foreign ministries and power centers is Foreign Affairs Required reading. Not just in America.
