Because with “Bet that…?” Gottschalk had the nation glued to the television – and now Thommy is stopping. The end of an era. Since he took over the evening show at the end of the eighties, he has influenced an entire generation. Whenever it was said that “Wetten, dass…?” was coming on Saturday evening. The weekend plans were fixed. But not only do these moments no longer exist – there is apparently hardly any room in the world for someone like Thomas Gottschalk. All that remains is a big thank you – and some criticism.
