The Elder Scrolls VI: Release not before 2028 and platform unknown

The release of The Elder Scrolls VI is more than five years away, explains Xbox division boss Phil Spencer. He also does not specify which platforms the game will appear on. Due to the prospect of a comparatively long development time, the title could only appear on the next generation of consoles, which is speculated to appear in 2028 from both Sony and Microsoft.

The Elder Scrolls VI was announced in 2018 at the E3 games fair – which was canceled this year due to a lack of interest. The information comes from the process of the $ 69 billion Activision deal, which is currently being negotiated in the United States. IGN reports that Spencer dodged questions about the game’s Xbox exclusivity and that The Elder Scrolls VI could skip Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 entirely.

There was confusion about the role-playing game in the process because Spencer was in an affidavit According to IGN said he can’t remember his November 2021 announcement that The Elder Scrolls VI would be an Xbox-exclusive title. The sixth part of the successful game series is being developed by Bethesda. Microsoft completed the acquisition of the game developer in March 2021 with the acquisition of the parent company ZeniMax.

During the negotiations, Spencer explained that Microsoft decided to buy ZeniMax when it was suspected that the game “Starfield” might not appear on the Xbox. The sci-fi role-playing game is now an Xbox exclusive (and on PC) after several delays in September this year. The exclusive games were also the subject of the FTC’s lawsuit against Microsoft. The games from the in-house Xbox Game Studios appear regularly at no additional cost in Game Pass, for which a price increase was recently announced.
