the Earth Uprisings count “fifty” seriously injured demonstrators

The Ministry of the Interior has reported twelve wounded among the police during clashes with demonstrators opposed to this rail project.

While, earlier in the day this Saturday, the prefect of Savoie announced that a demonstrator had been slightly injured in the calf during the clashes on the sidelines of the mobilization against the TGV Lyon-Turin railway line project, the Uprisings of the Earth counts “about fifty seriously injured”.

In a press release, the organization, which co-called for the demonstration, specifies that on the side of the demonstrators, there were “six hospitalizations including two functional prognoses engaged”.

“We once again deplore the government’s forceful response to a day of joyful and determined protest, which is part of 30 years of fighting against a useless and destructive project”, write Les Uprisings of the Earth.

Dissolution procedure

At the end of the mobilization, in a tweet, Gérald Darmanin announced that twelve gendarmes were injured.

In March, after the events in Sainte-Soline, the Minister of the Interior announced the launch of a procedure to dissolve the Earth Uprisings. For the moment, the collective is not dissolved. This week, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne recalled, however, that the procedure was still under way.
