The disturbing profile of Dahbia B., suspected of having killed the schoolgirl in Paris

The blue door of the apartment did not resist the assault given by the police. Saturday, in the early morning, the police burst into the studio occupied by two men, in a building in Bois-Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine). The investigators of the crime squad go to the kitchen in which Dahbia B., 24, is and question her. One of the two inhabitants of the place, Amine K. met her a few hours earlier. He took advantage of the absence of Kamel, his roommate, to bring the young woman who is homeless and spend the night with her. Everything suggests that he was unaware of it. But his guest is suspected of having brutally killed Lola, 12, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris the day before.

In all, six people were placed in police custody, in the premises of the Crim’, rue du Bastion, in the hours which followed the discovery of the body of the pre-adolescent girl, in a trunk. Four of them, including the two occupants of the apartment, have been released without charge at this stage. On the other hand, Dahbia B. and a 43-year-old man were presented to an examining magistrate on Monday in Paris with a view to an indictment for murder and rape with acts of torture and barbarism. Rachid N., is an “old acquaintance of the suspect”. According to the magistrate, in front of the police, he admitted “having transported the latter at his request as well as two suitcases and the plastic box in his company vehicle from Paris to his home located in Asnières-sur-Seine, and having also received the applicant at his home with the suitcases and the cash box”. The forties also confided “having called a VTC driver for the suspect to return to Paris with the suitcases and the cash box about two hours after her arrival”.

“She looked a little crazy”

The police quickly understood that this young woman, hitherto unknown to justice and their services, was at the heart of the investigation. Friday afternoon, around 3:20 p.m., she was filmed, alongside Lola, by the surveillance camera installed in the hall of the building where the victim and his family lived, rue Manin. It is also in this residence that Friha B., Dahbia’s older sister, lives. Later in the afternoon, the suspect, white jeans, gray top, was seen in the street by several witnesses, carrying an opaque plastic trunk. His behavior left no one indifferent. “She looked a little crazy”, “unstable”, told BFM TV a local resident who crossed her. “She was carrying around with the trunk, she even left it in front of the café, she went across to the bakery to buy a croissant, come back as if nothing had happened,” he recalls.

The inhabitants of this popular Parisian district do not suspect, when passing by her, that the trunk contains the body of Lola, a smiling 12-year-old girl with long blond hair. His body will not be found until around 11:20 p.m., by a homeless man, 42, rue d’Hautpoul, 200 meters from the schoolgirl’s home. The victim, who was tied up, was placed in an opaque plastic storage box, covered with a piece of cloth that concealed its contents. The autopsy performed Saturday determined that Lola died of asphyxiation. “Multiple other lesions were noted, in particular on the face, back and large cuts on the neck which did not enter, according to the conclusions of the medical examiner, in the determinism of death”, indicates the public prosecutor of Paris , Laure Beccuau, in a statement on Monday. The examination “did not reveal any traumatic lesion of the entire sexual sphere”, she adds.

Psychological and psychiatric expertise

However, the motive for the crime is still very vague. Why was Lola killed? Why did we find a “0” and a “1”, written in red under each foot? Did the suspect know the victim? “Investigations are continuing to establish the sequence of events,” confided to 20 minutes a source close to the investigation. In police custody, Dahbia B. declared having “dragged the victim to her sister’s apartment, living in the same building as the child, whom she would have forced him to take a shower before committing acts on her. sexual assault and other violence resulting in death and that she would have concealed the body in the cash register, ”continues Laure Beccuau. Psychological and psychiatric expertise will now be carried out to try to better understand the personality of Dahbia B..
