The diagnosis: She has pressure in her ears, but where is it coming from?

A woman complains of ear pressure and a nasal spray for a cold doesn’t help. The problem comes from a completely different corner.

Recorded by Astrid Viciano

At first there was nothing unusual about the patient. She came to our ENT practice because she had been feeling pressure in her right ear for a few months. In addition, the ear was “closed” – you know the feeling when traveling on a plane or hiking in the mountains at high altitude. This can also occur if an effusion has formed in the middle ear as a result of a cold.
