The anti-heating plan demonstration in Erding at the weekend was a new low point in the political discourse. Not the event itself; Freedom of assembly is one of the great privileges of our liberal democracy. Much more shameful is the level at which the heads of Bavarian state politics are now pursuing their traffic light bashing. This can no longer be justified with election campaigns.
