The CSU in Seeon Monastery: An alternative to traffic light politics

A different migration policy, relief for medium-sized businesses, more money for the Bundeswehr: the CSU has a lot planned in case it comes back into government.

The CSU has seen itself as a club for clear pronunciation for decades – and Alexander Dobrindt is undoubtedly part of this tradition. He called the then head of the ECB Mario Draghi a “counterfeit coin”, the FDP a “cucumber squad”, the Social Democrat Hannelore Kraft “the laziest egg in German politics”, and his comrade Sigmar Gabriel “overweight and under-talented”. And that is just a tiny selection of his verbal creativity.
