The Crown series has had $200,000 worth of props stolen, including a rare replica Fabergé egg.

Gems and antiques worth 150,000 pounds (about 180,000 euros) have been stolen from the series “The Crown”. Like the South Yorkshire Police according to the “Daily Mail”., the thieves broke into three trucks on Wednesday. The props, some of which were valuable, were kept there.

Apparently, the thieves had gained access before filming began with Imelda Staunton (66) as Queen and Jonathan Pryce (74) as Prince Philip for season five. The 200 items stolen include an expensive replica Russian Fabergé egg bought by King George V and Queen Mary, candelabra, jewellery, a grandfather clock and silver.

Antique dealers should be on the lookout

“The producers have an incredible eye for detail and every item has been carefully selected. Losing it all is just heartbreaking,” a source told The Sun. The police asked antique dealers to keep an eye out for the items.

A Netflix spokesman said the incident will not halt filming as “replacements will be found”.
